Abstract
During the last five years, the number of Web logs has increased dramatically. The development of Web logs has several organizational and legal ramifications for human resource (HR) managers or general managers involved with human resource functions. The four types of Web logs that affect the human resource management function are: 1. organizational, 2. professional interest, 3. personal employee, and 4. hostile. Managers need to be aware of all four types and how these may affect their work. If HR is to take Web logs seriously, the staff must be prepared to spend time developing relevant policies.
