Funding crisis forces Oxford to cut British student places

Tony Halpin, Education Editor reports that "OXFORD University is planning to cut hundreds of places for British undergraduates and increase those for foreign students as it aims to stem chronic losses that threaten its world-class status. " (Times Online)

Those in New Zealand will know that John Hood the new VC at Oxford recently left University of Auckland to take up the post. Perhpas he is hoping to get more NZ students into Oxford :-)
