"Teachers in further education are increasingly using computers, the internet and other learning technologies on a daily basis as essential teaching tools. Evidence from a newly published report from the Learning and Skills Development Agency (LSDA) shows the spread of information and learning technology (ILT) within post-16 education and the positive impact it is having on both teachers and students." (eLearning Scotland)
Interestingly one of the findings was that "Those staff most likely to make greater use of technology for both teaching and administration are likely to be male, in post for less than 5 years and working full-time". This finding is very similar to my 1999 MPhil study "Gender Differences in Nurse Teachers' Attitudes to Information Technology". Six years on and some things don't seem to have changed very much :-(
