International News in Education Review

There is some interesting pieces in the International News section of Education Review (May 19 p12)
In the UK lecturers are refusing mark assignments and exams as employers have refused to negotiate over the 23% over 3 years rise being asked for. Student understandably are getting anxious. The end of the academic year is looming in the UK so for students not to know when their exam will be is understandably stressful.

Middle class parents who spoil their children are creating playground bullies. So used to getting their own way these "brat bullies" as they are being labeled are unable to cope with being told no. Head teachers are warning that parents who can't say no are guilty of "loving neglect".
