I downloaded a new Blog Editor tonight, so I am giving it a go to see how it performs. It's called Qumana and is free. It also comes with the ability to add ads to your posts. I've played with Adsense over the years, without any great dividend, so I'll be interested to see if this is any better.
The interface is quote nice, and is much more like a word processor. But then it does sit on your machine, not on the web.
You can add technorati tag and also categories (if your blog supports them, currently Blogger doesn't).
Advertising is placed as a result of the keywords you give. Here's what came up when I told it to give me an ad on "Weblogs". I had no choice of ads to place, just this one came up. Also there was no option about what ad would give me the most $ for my click. That's some thing advertisers need to think about.
