Nola Campbell RIP

It is with great sadness that I write to let readers know of the death of Nola Campbell.

I first Met Nola in 2002 at a DEANZ regional seminar. I was struck then by her warm, welcoming nature, as well as her passion for eLearning.

Nola was the main reason I joined the DEANZ committee, feeling I was joining with someone who was extremely knowledgeable with a vision for the future. I was not disappointed.

One of her recent passions has been the creation of the FLLinNZ project (Flexible Learning Leaders in New Zealand). The first cohort of FLLinNZers has recently "passed out" and the new cohort have recently been announced. I was at the recent FLLinNZ seminar day in Hamilton when the participants were presenting their work. It was obvious the bond that had been created amongst this group. I know they will miss her. This was the last time I saw Nola; fitting that she was doing what she loved so much - furthering the cause of eLearning.

It is somewhat strange to be writing this in a blog, a first for me, but I feel it is very fitting in Nola's case. If you are reading this in the ethereal blogosphere Nola, I wish you peace. I hope you know how much people admired and respected you. You will be greatly missed.
